On the way to Bryce Canyon, the road passes through Red Canyon. Maybe I subconsciously like this because my dad's nickname was Red May?Many people are rushing to Bryce and miss a real treasure of color and variety of rock formations right on their route. One positive point was that we could stop again on our way back for a few more shots with different light.
We were just driving along and all of a sudden this is what we saw.

When we turned and looked back, we saw "regular" rocks and the valley behind us.

That's Ed, holding up that pillar.

He got tired, so Mary took over.

Watch out for all those people rushing to Bryce and missing out.

Obviously, I never get tired of these amazing formations.
This is one of my favorite shots -- notice 3 hikers on the top ledge.

Tiptoe through the tulips or the sage brush....

There are other natural bridges besides the one in Virginia. Of course, the one in Virginia is the biggest and best so far.
