Milk CAN CAN Beautify

Did you check the title on this post?  I "thunk" it up but when I came back to work on it, I speed read and didn't "get it".    Hopefully, you will....

My brother, Phil May made me an offer and I took him up on it.  He had some old milk cans from the dairy farm where we grew up.

A lady in my building at VMRC (my new home) was recommended as one who might be able to help me put a sunflower on my milk can.  Judith Espinoza was an art teacher and she did a lovely job.  My little sunflower idea turned into a work of art.

I turned this project into a "2-4-1".  I put writing on the back of the can and will change the bow to go with the season.  So, I can turn it around for a totally different look.

A few ladies were looking at it and I mentioned it was from my home farm.  One said,  "Oh, I thought you just bought it like that!"  Sooo... I hung a little sign on the wall behind it that said:

This milk can was used on
Mockingbird Hill Farm near Singers Glen, VA.
(where MaryMay grew up).

Her brother sanded off the rust and painted it.

The sunflower was painted by Judith Espinosa.  Look closely, it’s a work of art!

I do think that this can CAN and does beautify the alcove by our apartment.
