Mother always valued her family. The photos below are not necessarily in chronological order but depict many special people in Mother's life. The other blog posts about her life show more of the people who touched her life. (Click on any photo to see a larger version)

A Freeman Reunion -- about 1987
At a Willis reunion in Culpeper, Virginia
Fran with her sister-in-law, Ruth Freeman and her nephew, Bill Freeman, and his wife, Corty
Mother's other nephew, Robert Alexander Freeman (Bobz) and his wife, Marilyn.
Aunt Mary, Bill, Bobz, Mary and Frances
Fran, Phil, Maribeth and Levi May in the library of the Freeman home.
Walker, Fran, Mary and Philip May (Phil was in one of his "wild" stages. Daddy was embarrassed to take him to the Bowman reunion but he did anyway.)
Mother and Daddy were proud of Phil and his accomplishments in the Air Force. Not every family has its own nurse anesthetist! Phil's medical knowledge helped in improving Mother's quality of life her last few years.
Mother was proud of Anita when she earned her Master's Degree in Early Education.
Phil amazes us with his piano playing. Mother NEVER grew tired of listening to him.
Mary was Mom’s world traveler (lived a year in Australia and 7 years in Puerto Rico) and scuba diver.
Uncle Bob and Aunt Ginny May lived in the house when Mother and Daddy first got married. They moved to a house at the "foot of the hill" about a year later.
Going to Aunt Ginny's for "fried donuts" was a summer highlight for many years. Here's Aunt Ginny, Mother's niece, Stashia May Kline, Mother and Mary.
Mother's nephew, Bill May and his wife, Becky, with Phil, Maribeth, Levi, Mother, Mary and Ed.
Mother's other niece is Patty May Golightly.
Birthday Parties were part of life for the May Kids. We always beat pans on New Year's Eve. Fun, fun, fun!

Momma May and Her Three Ducklings
Christmas was always a special time when the Bob May family and the Walker May, Jr. Family got together. We always had to have our group photos taken.
Not sure what year these were taken....sorry!

Fran's family both in Virginia and North Carolina never ceased to bring her joy. She also had many dear friends who were like family to her.
Let's cherish each day with our families!

You and Phil sure do resemble your Grandfather Freeman! At first I wasn't sure that was really an old photo. Mary, I can see a resemblance to Mama Bessie across the eyes. Family photos are fascinating!
