FOOD FOR THE SOUL
It's been a thrill for me to see three shows this week. Sunday night, the Cher Concert was wonderful.
It's been a thrill for me to see three shows this week. Sunday night, the Cher Concert was wonderful.
Monday night we saw the show called Love, which is a tribute to the Beatles put on by the Cirque du Soleil. I would love to describe it, but that would be impossible. With music, dancing, lights, people flying, and a gazillion special effects all going on at the same time, it was hard to try look everywhere at once. It did make me realize how strange the lyrics to many of the songs by the Beatles are.
The show was totally creative and over-the-top original. I understand that one of the Beatles makes an appearance now and then. They also make suggestions about the show from time to time.
A friend had told me that the Terry Fator Show was good, if we liked to laugh. Ed didn't care much about it but agreed to go. I just heard him telling his son on the phone what a good show it was.Terry is a ventriloquist and an impersonator who won "America's Got Talent." He said it's taken him 42 years to have fans and he'd stay to sign autographs for everyone who wanted one.
He even encouraged us to take pictures - he knew that we all smuggled in cameras anyway! He did request that we not video the whole show!
FOOD FOR THE TUMMY
If you know Ed at all, you know he's forever moaning about not being able to get a hot pastrami on rye sandwich! We went to the Carnegie Deli at the Mirage hotel next door (where the shows for Love and Terry Fator were given.) Ed ordered his much-sought-after sandwich and immediately started grumbling that he was going to take one bite and if it wasn't good, he was going to call the manager over and send it back.
One look at his face will tell the story:
I'm so glad Ed finally got an *real* hot pastrami sandwich!
